Label scope

English Alazun is angry can mean one outburst or the kind of person Alazun is. The same word does both jobs, and a single act easily turns into a claim about someone's nature. To say what kind of claim a label is, write the root, then mid-word th, then a scope vowel, then the ending. How far the label reaches is how much of the person's scenes it covers, biggest to smallest: a type across scenes, a practiced role, one relationship, or this episode. A type is a bigger claim, not an and, and not which person in a queue. The word keeps its usual slot, so a label on /ɡ/ is still is ADJ, and a verb is still the verb.

zalazun gonumuthul.

z-Alazun | g-angry-th-episode

"Alazun is angry this time."

A label with no scope vowel says nothing about how far it reaches. Use one when that reach matters, the way you would add this time or a teacher in English.

AgebenUseEnglishCue
thaa type across scenes: the quality follows theman anxious type, a teacher typea ≈ biggest (the claim covers scenes)
thoa practiced role: the office they inhabita teacher, lying as their crafto ≈ medium (a life they inhabit)
thethis pair: true in one relationshipa stranger to Azozon, lying, in dealings with Alazune ≈ small (one person in reach)
thuthis episode: this stretch of doingangry this time, lied (this once)u ≈ none (a speck of time)

Mid-word th with a scope vowel goes on /ɡ/, /z/, /d/, /b/, /v/, and /h/, on a content root. It labels a content word, so a special pronoun with -n takes none (its root on -l is an ordinary word, zuwethul a microphone, this time). The sake roots use this spot for their own stances instead. A role compound writes the same vowels after w, not after th.

To say when that claim counts (only at school, always except when it rains), put a restrictor on /w/ immediately before a scoped /ɡ/ word, with the circumstance words on /w/ too. The scope vowel says what kind of claim the label is; the restrictor says on which occasions it holds. A restrictor on /h/ limits the whole sentence instead (walks only when it rains), not the label.

zalazun wanurul wal gwozeduyol.

z-Alazun | [w-night | w-only-when | g-role-agent-teach]

"Alazun is a teacher only at night."

Compare with: hual / wual says the claim holds at every time. tha says you are treating them as that type across scenes, which can still have exceptions. wual gwozeduyol is the practiced role at every time, and ganomuthal is the type-claim. Using both together doubles down.

This episode (thu)

zazozon vulamuthul.

z-Azozon | v-lie-th-episode

"Azozon lied this once."

Practiced role (tho)

zazozon vulamuthol.

z-Azozon | v-lie-th-role

"Azozon lies as their craft."

On a verb, tho is that act as their practice, not one outing.

Compare with: usually / often is a restrictor (huam, war). tha is the type-claim (a lying type), which is not a practiced role.

This pair (the)

the says the label holds in one relationship: toward one other party. Put that party in a bl- word right after the word, on /ɡ/, /h/, and /v/ alike. A verb's recipient stays a plain /b/. On a noun, the stands alone; to name the party, say the label on /ɡ/ instead.

z-Azozon | [g-strangeness-th-pair | bl-Alazun]

"Azozon is a stranger to Alazun."

zazozon vulamuthel blalazun.

z-Azozon | [v-lie-th-pair | bl-Alazun]

"With Alazun, Azozon lies." (in that relationship)

With no /b/, the party is unstated: a stranger (to someone).

On a role compound the same vowel sits after w: gwezeduyol blalazun is is a teacher to Alazun.

Type across scenes (tha)

zalazun ganomuthal.

z-Alazun | g-anxious-th-type

"Alazun is an anxious type."

On a role compound the same vowel sits after w: zwazeduyol is a teacher type.

On a role compound

These are the same vowels, written right after w on a role compound: there they scope the role, not the act. gwozeduyol is is a teacher, gwuzeduyol is one who teaches (this time), and zwazeduyol a teacher type.

zwazeduyol veruvol.

z-type-agent-teach | v-run

"A teacher type runs."

A role word takes no th seam after its stem: its scope is written once, at the front. Scope on a plain verb stem (veduyothul) scopes the teaching.

Compare with: the th seam scopes the word itself (the act on a verb, the quality on an adjective, the manner on an adverb), and the verb keeps the rest of its clause: zazozon vulamuthul balazun. is Azozon lied to Alazun, this once. A role compound names the person by their part: zazozon gwozulamul. is Azozon is a liar.

Stacked scope

The four scope vowels also combine in pairs, the same pairs that joins and hooks use. A pair that starts with u reads like a join's everything but: u is every scene, and the second vowel is the one set aside (every time but this one, with everyone but Alazun, as themselves, not in the role). The other pairs read like the extra-noun hooks: ae over, ao using, oe toward. Do not read them as the first vowel's meaning followed by the second's. Do not read a stack as the new simplex letters glued together.

"Alazun is becoming a liar."

zuwen vezuyothuol bawan.

z-speaker | v-tell-th-outside-role | b-listener

"I'm telling you this as myself, not in my role."

thue takes its bl- party the same way the does. On thae, a bl- word is the situation the label belongs to; it claims no cause, and without one the situation is the scene at hand. thuo sets the role aside: it means off duty, never refusing the role or fake teacher (to deny the label, put gul after it). The same pairs on a role compound write the vowels after w.
