Say whether a clause is intention, a forecast, or a revisable pick, using closed /h/ mood roots.

Plan / predict
English will and going to mix intention (what someone means to do) with forecast (what will happen). Agalan splits those jobs onto two closed mood roots.
Shape: an /h/ word that frames the clause (floating /h/): owora 🗺️ world-map → plan, or elezo 🔭 telescope → forecast. Content verbs stay ordinary. Prefer floating /h/. Use /w/ only when the mood frames a preceding /ɡ/ adjective.
A map charts a course you mean to take. A telescope looks ahead at a distance.
| Claim | Form | Mnemonic |
|---|---|---|
| Intention: what someone means to do | PLAN howora… | map of a course |
| Forecast: what will happen | PREDICT helezo… | telescope looking ahead |
Ordinary content stays available (zoworal a map; voworal to plan).
`zazawan howoram vawalal.`
gloss: `z-grace@` · `h-PLAN-sketch` · `v-walk`
*Azawan means to walk.* (direction only; default)`zululon howoral vawalal.`
gloss: `z-courage@` · `h-PLAN-itinerary` · `v-walk`
*Ululon’s itinerary is to walk.* (steps on the map)`helezom vanunul.`
gloss: `h-PREDICT` · `v-rain`
*Forecast: it rains.*Use PLAN when the clause frames intention. Use PREDICT when it frames a world forecast. How locked a pick is is Intermediate.
| English bundle | Prefer |
|---|---|
| Azawan means to … (direction) | PLAN sketch (howoram) |
| here is how Ululon will … (steps filled in) | PLAN itinerary (howoral) |
| if that fails, Uhubun will … (backup path) | PLAN fork (howorar) |
| it will rain / expect rain (world forecast) | PREDICT (helezom) |
Endings — map resolution
On owora, -l / -m / -r mark how drawn the intention map is. -n stays ordinary proper. A backup path is fork.
| Ending | Form | Job | Reading | Mnemonic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| -m | howoram | sketch (soft default) | direction only: means to … without steps | open sketch |
| -l | howoral | itinerary | steps filled in: how is on the map | locked itinerary |
| -r | howorar | fork | contingency / backup path: if not A, then B | forked / other-path |
When unsure, prefer howoram. Leave PLAN off when you are not framing intention.

Intermediate
Forecast source
Stack ordinary evidentiality with PREDICT when you mark how you forecast (pattern, inference, and so on).
`helezom habawam vanunul.`
gloss: `h-PREDICT` · `h-PATTERN` · `v-rain`
*Forecast from pattern: it rains.*Stack DECISION after PLAN when you also mark pick firmness (howoral … hegegel).
Decision (revisability)
Mark how revisable a pick is (temporary, open, or settled) with one closed mood root. English decide / I've decided / final decision smuggles firmness into the verb; Agalan puts firmness on the ending (same map as unmet changeability).
Shape: floating /h/ mood egege ✅ check → decision (use /w/ when scoped only to a preceding /ɡ/). Prefer floating /h/. Ending = changeability. A checkmark confirms a pick.
Ordinary content still available (zegegel a checkmark; vegegel to check / tick).
`zululon hegegem vuzunul.`
gloss: `z-courage@` · `h-DECISION-modifiable` · `v-sing`
*Ululon has decided to sing, still open to revision.* (default)`zuhubun hegegel velebel.`
gloss: `z-beauty@` · `h-DECISION-irreversible` · `v-sleep`
*Uhubun has decided for good to sleep.*`zazawan howoral hegegel vawalal.`
gloss: `z-grace@` · `h-PLAN-itinerary` · `h-DECISION-irreversible` · `v-walk`
*Azawan’s itinerary is to walk, and the pick is settled.*Use DECISION when the clause marks pick firmness.
Not the same job as: PLAN (map grain).
Endings — changeability
On egege, -l / -m / -r match unmet changeability: irreversible / modifiable / temporary. -n stays ordinary proper.
| Ending | Form | Job | Reading | Mnemonic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| -l | hegegel | irreversible | settled / final as far as you can tell | hard / locked (-l) |
| -m | hegegem | modifiable (soft default if unknown) | open to revision | open to change |
| -r | hegeger | temporary | pick for this moment; usually revisable later | light / this-moment only |
Always pick an ending on DECISION. If you do not know how locked the pick is, use -m. Deferral stays ordinary packaging.
